Under 9's Team

Information

The under 9 program at Northern District Hockey is an internally run skills based program for 1 hour. Each week the program will involve a mixture of skill drills and small-sided games. Games will have between 4 to 8 players on a small field (no goalkeepers). Children will be grouped according to age and friendship.

Training: Training starts Monday, 14th March, 6pm – 7pm, at Pennant Hills Park on the turf field.

Inter Club Games: to be confirmed.

Coaching
Many of the coaches are high school students who are completing Duke of Ed coaching courses.
Parents are required to assist with supervision of children.
Parents are encouraged to assist with coaching so please bring a stick and joggers if you have them.

Equipment
All children need a stick, Mouthguard and shin pads.
Please note that NSW hockey states that children are not permitted to enter the turf without wearing shinpads and mouthguard

Wet Weather
The turf is an all weather turf and as such training will go ahead if raining. So bring your rain coat and come out and play in the rain.
If you or child doesn't want to train in the rain and the cold ..... that's OK too!
The only time training is off is if there is lightening or the field is flooded

Please feel free to approach any Committee member and any time with any concerns.
