Northern District Hockey Association was the first club in Australia to run a Hook in2 Hockey program for 2008. The program was conducted during the last week of the January school holidays at the Pennant Hills Park complex. This time was chosen in order to have the participants try hockey prior to registration day and then to hopefully sign-on for the season.
In the process the Northern Districts participants also became the first to receive the great new Hook in2 Hockey Equipment Packs consisting of a stick, ball, shin pads from the program’s Official Equipment Supplier, Kookaburra Sport.
There were 22 participants (10 girls and 12 boys) aged between 5 and 13 and they were confidently led by 3 leaders, Sam, Zac & Adam all of whom play 1st or 2nd grade for our senior men’s club, Norwest Strikers.
Over the week, the leaders took small groups and covered basic hockey skills of pushing, trapping, tackling, passing and receiving the ball. They played modified games and everyone had a great time
This is the 4th year Northern District Hockey has used the H2H program. The H2H program has been extremely successful with club registrations growing.
Northern District Hockey Association is very happy to have been the first Hook in2 Hockey Centre for 2008 and it would like to thank the dedicated band of leaders, the participants and their families for taking part in the H2H program.
