U11Blue

Round 1 saw the U/11 Blue's play the Ryde Tigers at Ryde - it was a hard fought 0-0 draw. A great first game.
Ice Cup Award - Tyler - for lots of great dribbling skills

Round 2 - the U/11 Blue's played a home game against U/11 Whites - we were defeated 3-0 by a better team.
Ice Cup Award - Sarah - for a great all round performance

Round 3 - was played at Kuring-gai against Gordon in drizzly weather. We were 4 players short. It was a fantastic game and the kids all played fabulously. Victory to the Blues - 2-0 !! These were our first goals of the season and were scored by Tyler.
Ice Cup Award - Tim - for displaying some great hitting both as a back and a forward, nearly scoring twice and listening to his coach!

Round 4 - defeated by Manly 8-0
The Blues played a very defensive game at Pennant Hills but Manly played fabulously. Liam and Olivia had a mighty game as backs and congratulations to Emma (who played goalie for the first time) saving many goals. Our forwards were kept busy but there was not a lot of opportunity for attack.
Ice Cup Award - Emma for her work in goals

Round 5 - defeated by Redlands 1-0
We played wonderfully against Redlands only going down 1 nil. This was a huge improvement and once again our backs were busy and Rebecca (what a star!) did a valiant job in goals having never played before. Aaron, Tim and Cassie were unlucky not to score but Redlands were a stronger team on the day. Liam, Olivia and Kevin backed up with some great team plays. Thank you to Renee for filling in for us.
Ice Cup Award - Cassie and Liam for brilliant defence

Round 6 - defeated by Briars 1-0
What an exciting game! Again we were short and thank you to Renee for playing for us. Aaron was on fire, as were Olivia, Emilia, Cassie and Kevin. We had an excellent game and played a lot more in our positions. The whole team worked hard, none more so than Rebecca in goals. Well done to all the team for a game well played!
Ice Cup Award - Olivia, fabulous all round game and Renee, for filling in again and some great plays.

Round 7 - defeated by Baulkham Hills Red 3-2
The Blues again played a very defensive game at Pennant Hills and time ran out as we started scoring. Many penalties were given away as there were numerous foot infringements. Liam was tenacious in defence assisted by Sarah and Patrick. Baulkham Hills could have scored more but for Rebecca who once again starred in goals. When our forwards had the ball we made it to the circle several times but only managed to score twice. Goals went to Aaron and Julietta after some great teamwork from the forwards. Note to Blues - we must remember not to kick the ball!!
Ice Cup Award - Liam for his fabulous work in defence and Patrick for some great plays and filling in for us.

Round 8 - victory to the U/11 Blue 1-0 against Ryde Tigers
This week the Blues attacked from the outset and played brilliantly. There was some fabulous teamwork with the ball being passed between players creating many opportunities to score, with the only goal to Tyler in the first half. There was some excellent work in the circle from the forwards backed up equally by Emilia, Kevin, and Cassie at halves and when Ryde took the ball it was defended by Olivia and Liam without any problems. Some great hits to Liam to clear the ball, also less foot infringements from the whole team.
Well done to Kevin who copped a stick in the head and made it back on to the field to finish the game.
Ice Cup Award - Emma

Round 9 - lost to U/11 White 3-0
The first half was very evenly matched, both in defence and attack, the score remaining nil all at half time. Again Liam played fabulously in defence and Renee played fantastically on the wing as we were short on numbers again. Emma had a great game, making several passes into the circle but we were unable to score. In the second half, the rain came, the play slowed and the Whites scored three great goals to win the game.
Ice Cup Award - Liam

Round 10 - draw with Gordon/Nth Sydney 0-0
On a freezing night at Pennant Hills we played another evenly matched game with Sarah displaying some great team work with some fabulous passes to Renee on the wing and into the circle. Tim and Aaron also had some good runs into the circle but were unable to get past Gordons' defence. Kevin and Emma backed up well and Liam had another great game with Rebecca doing fabulously in goals. Thank you to everyone who braved the cold and also, a big thank you goes to Lizzie for coaching.
Ice Cup Award - Sarah

Round 11 - defeated Manly 1-0
We finally had a win against Manly after going down 8 nil last round. Congratulations to Adam on his goal after a run from half way. Again Liam, Rebecca and Sarah had good games with the biggest improvement in the game going to Julietta with some great stick work and passing. Our ever reliable extra, Renee also played well with her experience starting to show. This was a tough game but we held Manly out of the circle with some great defence by Olivia and Kevin and Rebecca in goals. Well done Blues!
Thank you to Adam, Chris and Renee for playing for us even after already playing their own games, and to Emelia and Emma, get well soon, we need you!
Ice Cup Award - Julietta

Round 12 - draw with Sydney Uni 0-0
What an exciting game! It was evenly matched with great attack and defence from both teams. Well done to Tim, Aaron and Tyler with some fabulous runs and to Kevin, Cassie and Julietta some great plays in defence to get the ball through. Both teams had the ball in their circles on numerous occasions but neither were able to score due to the defence. Again to Rebecca, well done and also to Julietta with some great stick work and passing. This week we had some excellent teamwork and even some calling for the ball. Our experience and training is starting to pay off. Thank you to Renee for playing for us again.
Ice Cup Award - Julietta

Round 13 - lost to Briars 1-0
Another exciting game played with much enthusiasm from all players. Congratulations to Aaron who only for the second time padded up and played sensationally in goals with many saves. The game was played equally but the blues were unable to score even though their attacking was much improved. A fabulous game was played by Kevin in defence and attack, always being where he was needed at the right time. Well done also to Chris (from U/9) in his tenacious tackling and not giving up. Thank you to Chris and Renee for playing for us again.
Ice Cup Award - Kevin and Aaron

Round 14 - drew with Baulkham Hills Red 0-0
A fabulous game to end the season with some great displays of attack, defence and brilliant saves in goals by Rebecca. It was evenly fought and both teams tried hard to score. If only the game had gone another 10 seconds… Ice Cup Award - Rebecca and Emelia.

U13Gold

Rounds 1-3
After 3 rounds the team has started well with wins against Gordon 3-1 and Manly 4-1, split by a loss to Ryde 1-3. In each game we have played strongly and created scoring opportunities. The game against Manly especially had some excellent passing and play by the team and showed how we can play. Goal scorers so far have been Sari (3), Mitchell (3), Marius and Poddy.
Ice Cup Awards to Sam, Matthew P and Angus.

Round 4 - defeated Briars 7-0
A strong all round performance to complete a solid win. A slow start built up during the first half to a 3-0 lead at half time, despite the score line our defence had plenty of work to do. Mark, Simon, Nick, Angus and Poddy making sure that Lachlan had little work to do in our goals. Our goals were scored by the M's until Sean got into the act at his old home ground for his first goal in ND colours, Mitchell (3), Matthew P (2) and Marius got the others.
Ice Cup Award went to Simon.

Round 5 - defeated Baulkham Hills 10-1
An excellent second half performance resulted in 7 goals being scored in the half and a commanding 10-1 victory. An overall strong game from everyone with Poddy, Nick and Sam playing well. Tom filled in this week and he produced an outstanding game at fullback with strong hitting and timely tackles. The goal scorers this week were Angus and Mitchell with hat-tricks, Matthew with a double and Simon and Marius each with one.
Ice Cup Award to Marius for a great all round game.

Round 6 - defeated Gordon/Nth Sydney 3-0
A Friday night game at home against a good tackling and well organised Gordon side. Although not our best performance of the season it was an important win. The team structure was good in this game but everyone seemed slow to the ball and because of this didn't make the most of the chances we created. Good games from Sam in the forwards and Mark and Simon at the back. Sari and Marius score goals with excellent rebound efforts after the initial save in the first half and Mitchell scored in the 2nd half from a penalty corner.
Ice Cup Award to Poddy who was busy all night at right and centre half.

Round 7 - draw with Ryde 2-2
This was an outstanding game of hockey between 2 even and well matched teams. The game ebbed and flowed with each side gaining an advantage at different stages and in the finish the honours were shared 2-2. After going in behind 1-0 at half time we came out strongly for the 2nd half and quickly equalised through a fine finish from Marius. Ryde went ahead again from a penalty corner before a cracking goal from Poddy levelled the scores and set up a tense final few minutes. A terrific team performance, with everyone running hard all game to achieve a well deserved result.
Ice Cup Award to Sean for his tackling and some excellent runs with the ball.

Round 8 - defeated Manly 4-0
A half time score of 0-0 didn't reflect the teams play and in the second half found the net 4 times for a good win, goals to Mitchell (2) and Matthew (2). Thanks to Kerry and Eileen standing in as the match day coaches.
Ice Cup went to Mitchell.

Round 9 - defeated Briars 7-0
Another strong overall performance produced a pleasing 7-0 victory in sometimes wet and cold conditions. Sean produced his best game of the year so far including 2 goals against his former club, and Nick continues to improve with each game. At the back Mark and Simon continue to be an excellent combination and support each other very well, if one gets beaten the other is there to cover. Single goals to Angus and Matthew, plus a hat-trick to Mitchell completed the final score.
Ice cup award went to Lachlan.

Round 10 - defeated Baulkham Hills 7-1
Another game with a slow start and against the run of play Baulkham Hills took the lead and then nearly made it 2, but for a fine save from Lachlan. This seemed to wake up the team and eventually the amount of possession told and we scored 2 goals to lead 2-1 at half time. There must be something in the half time water as the team came out firing in the second half and scored 5 more goals for a resounding win. The score could have been more except for some fine goalkeeping and goal line defence from Baulkham Hills. Goals scored by Mitchell (3) and singles to Matthew, Simon, Jackson and Poddy.
Ice Cup Award went to Nicholas for a fine all round game playing both fullback and half.

Round 11 - defeated Gordon/Nth Sydney 4-0
After an extended break due to the school holidays it was back to the business of competition games. A cautious start from the team couldn't create many chances apart from Matthew P great shot that beat the keeper only to come back of the post. With Angus coming off with an injured hand during the first half causing a team reshuffle that took a while to gel, a scrabbled goal was all we had for the majority of field play and a half time lead 1-0. Better play during the second half created more chances and goals to Matthew P, Mitchell and Sam's first goal of the season. Other chances to Mark and Sari were well saved by the keeper.
Ice Cup Award to Mark for a strong game and his versatility playing left wing and right half.

Round 12 - lost to Ryde 1-4
This was always going to be a tough game against the side leading the table, but with only 10 to start due to injuries and absences made it extra tough. Regardless of this the first half was even and only trailing 2-1 at half time was testament to the effort from the whole team. A brilliant solo goal to Poddy certainly the highlight.
With re-enforcements arriving we started the second half with a full compliment of 11 and were right in the game until a raised shot from a penalty corner was awarded a goal to Ryde making it 1-3. Some further chances to us could have bridged the gap, but with the team tiring Ryde scored late in the game. A wonderful effort from the team for the full game deserved a closer result, good games to Lachlan, Sam and Mark and the Ice Cup award to Sari.

Round 13 - defeated Manly 5-1
A slow start to the game on an early Saturday morning trip to Kuringai. We were sluggish with the ball and to the ball and Manly playing a lot behind the ball meant it was hard to score and an untried corner variation had Matthew tap in at the left post. The second half improved as the weather warmed and the team woke up and we quickly went 2 up when Mitchell scored. A scare then went through the team as Manly pulled one back from a penalty corner. More concerted pressure allowed us to score 3 more goals (Mitchell 2 and Marius) and make the game safe for a 5-1 win. Ice Cup award went to Sam.

Round 14 - defeated Briars 8-0
A good overall performance in this game and it gave us the opportunity to move players into different positions. With our numbers down to 10 for this week, we asked Riley from the U13 Whites to come and play and she played well at left and right half. Good games from Poddy, Mitchell, Mark, Simon and also Nick did some good stuff in cover defence. Goals this week by Mitchell (5), Sari (2) and Matthew. Ice Cup award to Sari for a strong game and her goals set up the result.

Round 15 - defeated Baulkham Hills 9-0
This was the last round game and the main aim was no more injuries and getting everyone into form for the finals. We created numerous chances all game and the most pleasing part was the team held its shape and continued to share the ball around with good passing all game even after position changes were made and players found themselves in different positions to normal. Goals scored by Marius (2), Sari (2), Sean (2), Mitchell (2) and Simon. A hard decision for the Ice Cup award this week and I couldn't split Marius, Sean & Matthew P.

Semi Final - lost to Ryde 3-7
This game was much closer than the scoreline indicates. We played Ryde, without having the full team, with Marius away it was great news that Angus was back playing after missing 4 games with a broken hand, this meant we had the bare 11 and a couple of players not 100% due to the flu. The first half was even until towards the end of the first half Poddy was hit above the knee from a raised shot on a penalty corner and he needed to come off for treatment. This left us down to 10 players for the last few minutes of the half, despite this and Ryde scoring from the repeat corner the half time score was 2-1 to Ryde. Quickly into the second half we leveled through a fine solo run and goal from Mitchell and for the next period the scores remained level. Sam was playing a strong game at left half and Sari worked hard to contain Ryde's strong inside forwards. As the game wore on we struggled to clear the ball out of defence as Ryde continually blocked our 16's. With Poddy unable to run at full pace and no reserves taking its toll we tired and conceded 3 quick goals. Mitchell scored his 2nd goal of the game to give the team some hope, but Ryde killed of the game with 2 more late goals. Ice Cup award to Angus for a fine return game.

Final - defeated Gordon 4-3
This was a close and hard fought game that went for the full 60 minutes. We started well and scored an early goal through an excellent finish from Sari and looked in control when Gordon came down the left win and managed an equaliser. This spurred the team on and with 2 goals by Mitchell from penalty corners went in at half time 3-1 leaders. After half time we dominated play and probably should have put the game away, but for some missed chances in front of goal and excellent saves from the Gordon keeper it stayed 3-1. Mid way through the half Gordon scored 2 goals from penalty corners making it 3-3 and with the game looking like going to extra time, something extra was needed. With the team working hard the goal came when Poddy got the final touch on a cross by Matthew from the right wing to sneak the ball into the Gordon net, some tough defending made sure that was the final goal in the match. To the joy of the players, coach and parents the final whistle blew shortly afterwards. A very exciting and well played game between 2 good teams just what you would expect from a final and what the team needed in the lead up to the Grand Final against Ryde. A solid team performance with strong games from Sam, Sari, Angus, Poddy and Sean with the Ice Cup award to Mitchell.

Grand Final - lost to Ryde 1-4
On a warm sunny Saturday morning we had a full strength team to take on Ryde for the U13A title. The team started strongly and dominated the early exchanges but failed to take full advantage of the pressure with the Ryde keeper making several saves to keep out shots from Mitchell, Sari and Sean. A goal eventually came through Poddy who kept up his record of scoring goals against Ryde all season to put us 1-0 in front. As the first half was coming to a close Ryde started to get on top and put pressure on the defence. Despite good work from the defence of Angus, Sam, Nick, Mark, Simon and Lachlan in goals, they forced some penalty corners. Some confusion in defence allowed Ryde to equalise and then go ahead just on half time to lead 2-1 from repeat penalty corners.
The second half was an even contest and several chances went to either side, Ryde taking advantage of a rebound quicker than the defence after a good save from Lachlan to make it 3-1. Matthew, Poddy and Marius created chances to get us back in the game but couldn't find a way around the Ryde keeper. As we started to tire Ryde put the game beyond our reach with a 4th goal to make the final score 4-1. In the end Ryde were more accomplished in front of goal taking their chances that proved the difference. This was probably one of our best games all year and the effort put in was outstanding, but unfortunatelynot quite the result we would have hoped for to end the season, despite this result it has been very successful season.

U13Blue

Our U13 Blues have started the season incredibly well with a 6 - 0 win against Baulkham Hills Red and a 4 - 0 win against Briars Red. The goals have been scored by Rachael, Erin, Amanda, Oliver, Tobi and Alex. The commitment from each player is to be commended and the overall TEAMWORK extraordinary. Each player is keen to share the ball and set up the goals in the goal mouth. The defence is LETHAL. Mitchell is to be congratulated for being selected for the Sydney West PSSA Hockey Team after trials in Penrith last Tuesday. We are very proud that our goalie is the BEST in the WEST!

Round 4 - lost to Sydney University 0 - 7
Playing at our home grounds for the first time our team went onto the field with much enthusiasm. They played an exciting game but were defeated by Sydney Uni who would have scored more goals had it not been for Northern Districts strong defence from the U13 Blues who were kept on their toes for most of the game. Districts were unlucky not to have scored any goals because when they went on attack, they set up some good opportunities.
The Ice Cup award went to Ashlee this week for her sheer determination to keep the opposition out of the circle.

Round 5 - defeated ND U13 White 7 - 1
Our team scored quickly in the opening minutes with a goal confidently placed by Oli, who went on to score another 2 goals during the match. Amanda sneaked a goal in from a deflection just outside the goal mouth and Alex went on to score 3 more as he placed the ball beautifully helping to finalize the score at 7 - 1. Thank you to Jaimee for filling in as goalie with Mitchell away with flu. Thank you too Tyler and Kevin from the U11's for substituting at the last minute - you did a good job. Well done to Lauren, Tobi, Tom, Simon and Ashlee for a game well played.
This weeks Ice Cup award went to Rachael for her great positional play.

Round 6 - Defeated GNS Blue 4 - 2
A chilly night at KHC with 2 players away we borrowed Riley from U13 W thanks Riley - very well played. The whole team played confidently in different positions showing that the skills being practiced on Tuesdays at training seem to be having an effect on our game. Oliver dominated in defence and attack and was unlucky not to score this week. Ashlee (our birthday girl) was also unlucky not to score also. Tobi shone as the Centre forward scoring 2 goals in the first half and Brigitte danced around after scoring both goals in the second half, ably assisted by Rachael and Ashlee. Thanks to the Simon, Alex and Jaimee for fantastic defending and passing the ball wide. Our hero's tonight were Erin and Amanda who both tackled with great skill and persistence. WELL DONE!!!!
Ice cup award to Brigitte for 2 goals and Riley for her outstanding effort backing up the defence.

Round 7 - defeated Redlands 9-1
After a very early 7:45am start our team played a grading game against Redlands at Ryde. It didn't take long for Brigitte to score our first goal with a sneaky little push from the corner of the goal mouth. She went on to score another 3 goals in the same way. Oliver showed his skill as he dribbled through the opposition and Tom and Jaimee played well in defence. Erin, Alex and Oli each scored again finalising the score at 9-1. Simon, Lauren, Rachael and Ashlee played well and were always where they were needed. Mitchell didn't get to see the ball much, but managed to keep himself warm nevertheless. Tobi won the ice cup award for his fantastic positional play. Well done TEAM!

Round 8 - defeated Ryde Tigers 2-0
Another early morning game at Home against Ryde Tigers. The game ebbed and flowed with bursts of attack and then strong defense by Tom and Lauren. Alex scored from a short corner - a set play that we have practiced - well done to all . Most encouraging this game was the short play and the passing wide when we found ourselves in trouble. Positional play is also improving and Brigitte and Rachael were always waiting and ready for the passes into the circle. In the second half another well placed goal by Rachael settled the score and the Tigers found it very difficult to score. Alex won the ice cup for his dynamic play this week. Thank you to Tom for offering to help the U13Whites in their game straight after ours, you're a star. Thank you Jaimee for playing despite being ill. Keep up the great work TEAM, you have a very proud coach.

Round 9 - defeated GNS White 3 - 1
Splish! Splosh! Splash! On a flooded KHC pitch the U13 Blues still continued their great form in extreme weather conditions. Thank you to Bethany from U13 Whites for filling in at the last minute and braving the wet and cold to play for us. No matter how hard the team hit the ball today the puddles of water on the pitch slowed the ball down to a dribble and then a stop. For the team to have scored three times was spectacular. Well done to everyone who played. The ice cup award went to Tom for his fabulous defence and for always being where he was needed. Go team!

Round 10 - defeated Manly Green 3 - 0
What a FREEZING night this was up at Pennant Hills. Huddled in the dugout we formulated our match plan and diligently stuck to it throughout the game. Three goals were scored altogether by Brigitte, Alex and Ashlee - Well Done! There was some great passing and tight defense by our backs. Sadly we farewell Oliver who is moving North and thank him for his contribution to the team this season. Keep up the good work and enjoy the well deserved holidays.

Round 11 - lost to GNS Blue 2 - 4
It was really hard to get back into the swing of Hockey after the July holidays, however we persevered on Friday night. With our goalie away Tom enthusiastically stepped into the role and did a fine job. For our team goals were scored by Brigitte and Blake. Our birthday girl Erin played a super game and was awarded an Ice Cup for some dynamic play. A BIG warm welcome to Blake who has joined our team for the rest of the season.

Round 12 - lost to GNS White 0 - 2
A much better game - we were unlucky not to score with so much of the play in the attacking half. We have a bit of work ahead of us concentrating on marking and continuing to go after the ball. Great efforts to those who played in different positions especially Alex - very well played as a fullback. Thanks also to those who came out even when unwell. Ice cup award to Amanda for her foolhardy running.

Round 1 - defeated Manly Green 1 - 0
A late starting game at Kuringai did not help a nervous coach however fantastic positional play and calling throughout the entire game allowed Tobi to put a goal in for our win. Great to hear the players talking to each other and short passes working well. Well done to Blake for spreading the ball across the attack. Ice Cup Award to Lauren

Round 13 - lost against Sydney Uni 1 - 2
What a 'germ' riddled team :) We started the game with only 11 players (of which 2 were recovering from illness & 2 still sick) With changed tactics this week playing 3 fullbacks and held out SU for 23 minutes before they scored the first goal. By half time we had 2 reserves (just as well) with Caitlin playing a half and Jackson playing back and half. SU scored again early in the second half, but the Blues fought back well and were unlucky not to score more than once by Blake. Jaimee was awarded an Ice Cup this week for making breaks for the free hits and great running in attack and defence. Alex also received an Ice Cup Award for outstanding defence.

Round 14 - defeated Brairs Red 2 -1
Our last round for this comp - gee has the season gone quickly. It was an unseasonally warm August Saturday playing at Pennant Hills and our team was all out to play well. Tobi and Jackson scored our winning goals and Blake was our Ice Cup winner this week. Everyone played a good running game and the win was exciting going into the Semi-finals next weekend.

Semi-Final - lost to GNS White 1 - 5
The atmostphere at Pennant Hills was electric tonight. Our team was ready! GNS scored in the first 7 minutes and there was no stopping them, their game was all attack. No matter how many times we made it into the circle we just could not get a goal. Finally, great team play by Rachel and Brigitte got us on the board. But try hard we did, taking a blow to Jackson's fingers, a hard knock on Lauren's ankle and a nasty hit on Amanda's arm. It was just not to be. Our team did all they could but sadly lost the game. Ice Cups went to the whole team who all agree that it has been a SUPER year of hockey! GO DISTRICTS!

U15Blue

Round 3 - U15 Blue's had a very hard game against Ryde at PHP It was very hot and steamy. Wilkie was outstanding in the Goal however we spent most of our game in defence. The whole team worked extremely hard better luck next time. Thank you to Mitchell for playing. Well done to Abbey for scoring the goal, remember any goal against Ryde feels like a win :-)

Round 2 - lost to Redlands 1-2
A very exciting - well matched game for the Blues this morning against Redlands with a few players carrying injuries from the night before. Redlands scored first - Matthew crossed the ball to Mitchell to score. In the last 5 minutes of the second half Redlands scored a beautiful goal to get the Win. Josh & Joel were again awesome in defence and attack, John, Chris and Lachlan defended valiantly. The wings received a much better share of the ball this game - thanks to the support of the inners and strong free hits. We were unlucky not to get goals with Jake, Rebekah and Matthew all having good shots.
Thank you to Mitchell, Matthew and Lachlan for playing this morning.
Finally a very big thank you to Kath Bush for filling in as our Manager for the last 2 weeks.
Ice Cup Award: Joel

Round 4 - defeated Manly 2-1
What can I say - a very exciting match with plenty of shots at the goal in the first half. Manly Red managed to score from a ND deflection just on half time and Amanda was taken from the field with cramps (from all the fantastic running by the Wings and Inners). In the second half, we took the field 1 player down after some discussion about staying in position and dehydration. Amanda went back on with 5 minutes left of the game when Rebekah sent a ball from the right wing that allowed Ruan to score. A few minutes later Chris took a shot that went wide for Amanda to deflect for the winning goal.
Ice Cup Award: Josh for extraordinary attack and defence especially defensive short corners.

Round 7 - defeated Baulkham Hills Red 2-1
On the 2nd May we played a home game against Baulkham Hills Red. It is great to see the ND U15 Blue team getting down to serious defence and excellent passing. Joel scored the first goal of the game followed by one from Jake and we won 2 -1. Ice Cup Award went to Andrew.

Round 8 - defeated GNS Blue 2-1
We played GNS Blue at the Kuringai Hockey Club grounds on Friday night and won 2-1. This was quite a tough game with both teams scoring 1 goal until the last minutes of the game when Mitchell scored his second goal of the game. Great team effort! Ice Cup Award went to Chris.

Round 9 - defeated Redlands 4-1
We played against Redlands in very wet weather. The first half was tough with good defence by our team and no score. Then in the second half with some excellent team work, Amanda put one in, closely followed by a goal from Mitchell, then one from Jake and a second from Mitchell. We won 4 -1. Well done to all the team. Ice Cup Award went to John.

Round 10 - lost to Ryde 0-10
We played Ryde Tigers on the Friday night 22nd June. It was a freezing night. Our players tried their very best but the Ryde Tigers managed to get past our defences and they won 10 - 0. Good job for never giving up, team. It was a hard game and you fought on until the very end.

Round 11 - defeated Manly 4-0
We played Manly Red on the 20th July at Pennant Hills. Our team played well and Ruan had scored his first goal within minutes of the game beginning. It was great to hear the players talking to one another on the field. Our defence was excellent and the forwards took the ball up beautifully, scored our second goal, followed by another from Amanda and then one from Ruan. We won 4-0. Well done.
Ice cup award went to Ruan.

U15Metro

U15Metro - First Half of Season Report
The U15 Metro team has met with some fierce opposition over the first round of competition, particularly from well drilled, all male teams who play together regularly in both metro and rep competitions. The mixed ND Metro team has taken a few games for everyone to get their bearings. Having got over the initial shock of early morning games all over Sydney, the team is bounding with enthusiasm and kept amused by the fun antics of some of the players. As all the players are now more comfortable with the variety of playing styles, the team play is starting to be more cohesive and the individual strengths of players is becoming evident. Many thanks to Matthew P for helping the team out on a number of occasions.
Except for one game, the remainder of the season is on home turf and the team can look forward to a couple of extra minutes sleep and some home ground support.
